During the last week of November 2012, the ECCT Team was happy to go and collect food hampers for the five marginalized cancer patients and their families who we are supporting. It goes without saying that “we have been shouting from the rooftops” about the great sponsorship that has been granted to the patients by Probrands Foods in Zimbabwe. From October 2012, Probrands has been giving the patients much-needed food hampers.

Nutrition is a necessary component in a cancer patient’s life as it helps the body to recover and get the vital nutrients it needs to get stronger. ECCT’s mission is to support marginalized cancer patients and as such, when selecting the five patients we are assisting, we wanted to help those who were struggling to make ends meet. Our four Hatcliffe-based patients were particularly struggling with having enough meals for themselves and their family members everyday, but with Probrands sponsorship – this is a gap that we can help to bridge for them.

Please see some images below for the November 2012 delivery of food hampers to the patients and their families.

The food hampers contain basic items such as salt, rice, candles, sugar beans, sugar & maize meal.

The hampers where collected by the ECCT Team from Probrand's branch in Ruwa, a town located approximately 22km south east of Harare (the capital city).
