We are so excited to announce that the Elizabeth Chanakira Cancer Trust (ECCT) will be hosing an inspiring evening on Friday 11 October 2013 in Melbourne, Australia in support of the five patients the ECCT is supporting. The Hope Beyond Cancer Fundraising Evening is supported by Maurice & Blackburn Lawyers and organised by Sharon Orapeleng, President of the Queensland African Communities and Teurai Chanakira, Founder of the ECCT. It will be held at Maurice & Blackburn Lawyers, Level 10/456 Lonsdale Street, Melbourne.

The fundraising is in support of the ECCT and the Cancer Association of Botswana. Cancer is now a major cause of concern globally and is the leading cause of death not only in Africa but globally. The majority of the population in these countries is within low income levels, thus the high cost of cancer treatment exacerbates the rising number of deaths in the region.

The ECCT is currently supporting 5 poor cancer patients with food, some medical costs and school fees for the patients’ children. Also, the evening will raise funds to assist the Cancer Association of Botswana by providing funds which can be used to boost the welfare of their patients.

The MC for the night: Joys Jambi-Ferris. She will also provide entertainment with her singing, along with other performing artists.
