Happy September to you all! It has been a tremendous year so far, marked with numerous creative global fundraising events which helped to support the 4 marginalised cancer patients and/or families which the Elizabeth Chanakira Cancer Trust (ECCT) assist with food hampers, medical costs and school fees for some of their children.
This year we have had fundraising initiatives such as the Econet Half Marathon run in Victoria Falls by Lorraine Rubaba and Rutendo Denise. You can click here now to read about their amazing journey. There was also the Melbourne Age Run 10km race which ECCT Founder Teurai Chanakira and her companion Olivia Smith participated in, in July.
The following month the second annual Fitness To A Tee Flat Tummy class was held on 8 August 2015 at Borrowdale, Harare’s Body Active Gym. The class was hosted by three Personal Trainers and Bodybuilding Athletes: Founder of Fitness To A Tee Teurai Chanakira, Head Coach/Personal Trainer at Sweat Nation – Barbra Jambga and Victor Hungwe.
35 people attended and $175 was raised for the benefit of the ECCT patients and their families. Please see images below of the action from the class!! Thank you to the photographer who was in attendance – Luther Mutikani of Capture World Studio.
A BIG thank you to the trainers, class participants and Body Active Gym for making this day possible. There will be more Fitness To A Tee Flat Tummy classes held next year in Zimbabwe for the benefit of the ECCT patients and their families. Please contact the ECCT Team by clicking here now if you’re interested in participating either as a gym, sports club or venue or if you would like to take part to get your tummy flat!
