Realities of Cancer: ECCT Sheds A Tear

Our sincere condolences to Fiyosi’s wife and surviving four children.

So many up’s and down’s – that is the reality of cancer, but it is felt even more so for marginalized cancer patients in Zimbabwe.

Last week we received sad news that one of the patients we were supporting with pain medications for his prostate cancer passed away.

His name was Fiyosi Dingaan, who is survived by a wife (pictured on the right in the image above) and four children. Our Project Officer Mr. Francis Nyachowe was able to attend Mr. Dingaan’s funeral service at Doves in Harare last week.

Our heart is with his family as they mourn the loss of yet another victim to cancer in Zimbabwe.

As we continue our work in assisting and bringing whatever hope we can to marginalized cancer patients and their families in Zimbabwe, this is another day that we had to stop and shed a tear as we were reminded yet again of the harsh realities of cancer…
